We were lucky to know Jodie already when it became apparent that H needed some support with his confidence and anxiety. Jodie was currently a TA at school and this meant that H already felt comfortable within her company and talking to her about his feelings. Saying that though, Jodie has a brilliant way of making someone feel like they know her already, just after a short while of spending time with her, whatever the age!

With Jodie's experience with children, she just completely got him and just knew what to do to allow H to express his feelings and to overcome them. The relaxation techniques and visualisations that she carried out with him were at his level and her expectations of him being a child and not completely relaxing with frequent peeking to see what was happening, was reassuring. The confidence techniques that they agreed together for H to use in everyday life when he wasn't feeling strong were tailored to him and his favourite interests which allowed him to use them frequently and to come to mind in situations when is mind was too busy worrying. They did the trick and really helped! 

As a parent, Jodie explained each process and was always reassuring and I always felt very confident leaving H in her hands for his session. I wasn't worried about not being there.....Jodie always fed back all the important info that I needed to provide support at home. 

Jodie has this amazing presence which relaxes, supports and builds confidence and she would be the first person to spring to mind if I felt any of my friends or family, adults or children, needed support. Life constantly throws up unexpected emotions and Jodie is the perfect person to help navigate past whatever life throws at you.
